Auditions for THE LOST COLONY to be held at Theatre In The Park ...

The Lost Colony, Paul Green?s Symphonic Outdoor Drama will hold auditions for its 76th season on Monday, February 11 at 6:30 pm at Theatre In The Park in Raleigh. The theatre is located at 107 Pullen Road. This season?s production of The Lost Colony will be directed by Ira David Wood, III who is the Executive and Artistic Director of the Theatre In The Park. Wood has appeared in the nation?s oldest outdoor drama as both Old Tom and Sir Walter Raleigh. This year he will return to the Waterside Theatre as director of the production.

The auditions on February 11th will be for all principal performers, actor technicians and members of the vocal ensemble. Actors who wish to audition for principal roles should prepare a brief classical monologue. Actor-technicians should prepare a monologue as well. Singers interested in the vocal ensemble should prepare 16 bars of music in the classical style in addition to a short classical monologue. Strong choral training is a plus, as the show does not require solo performances. Everyone should provide a current photo and resume.

The 76th season of The Lost Colony will start rehearsal on May 12, 2013 with opening night on May 31.? The season runs through August 23, 2013. The show is performed nightly except Sundays in the Waterside Theatre located in the Fort Raleigh National Historic Site on Roanoke Island in Manteo, NC.

The Raleigh auditions will provide local actors with an excellent opportunity to audition for the director and the Associate Producer, Lance Culpepper in a more intimate setting. Further auditions were held at the Institute of Outdoor Drama Conference in Asheville on January 19th. Local Auditions are scheduled in Manteo on February 23, and at the Southeastern Theatre Conference in Louisville, KY on March 6 through 10. The casting team will be at all of these auditions. Dancers will also be seen at these auditions. Actors 18 and older should audition for positions in the production.
