To get full enjoyment out of ?Mirror Mirror? better arrive early at Knott?s Scary Farm?s Halloween Haunt, or else buy a front-of-line Fright Lane pass.
All of Knott?s new mazes this season are innovative in one way or another. This one is a hall of mirrors, a literal maze in which guests can go astray.
The concept dictates it will be a slow-loading attraction, and wait times were an hour or more for most of opening night Friday.
?Mirror Mirror? occupies a tent in Camp Snoopy (called Necropolis on Haunt nights).
A tape of the Green Witch, the Haunt?s signature character, warns guests of the mirrors? magic at high volume from speakers atop the structure.
Over the course of an hour, the witch?s convulsive cackle can go from entertaining to excruciating.
Guests are admitted into the tent in groups of a dozen or so.
Once inside, strobes and other lighting effects add to the intensity of the experience.
I couldn?t say that I mastered the mirror maze. I just followed a middle school kid ahead of me who was following his father. At some point a cast member opened an exit door and I was back in Camp Snoopy.
